A positive path for spiritual living

Sunday Lesson

  • 09/02/2018 Myrtle Fillmore on Prayer- Don't Send Them Out!

Unity co-founder Myrtle Fillmore reminds us that when we pray, we are never to "send our prayers out", because.... as she says, "Who would there be to receive them". We are to become still, and know Truth within.

  • 08/26/2018 Square Pegs and Round Holes

We each have work to do in the world; some of that work looks like work, and some of it is simply doing whatever it is that makes your soul sing. Myrtle Fillmore's suggestion was that if we feel like square pegs in round holes, we need to do whatever we need to do to find our proper place- it's not good to "rattle around". Many of us have put off doing those things we feel especially drawn to... if not now, when?

  • 08/19/2018 Be Still... and Forgive

This week, our focus from Unity co-founder Myrtle Fillmore revolves around forgiveness. It's not optional. We all know we need to forgive, but the how-to can be difficult. One thing we can each do is simply bring willingness to stillness. We may need to do it over, and over, and over again, but it really is necessary, and ultimately our practice of stillness and willingness will bear fruit.

  • 08/12/2018 Helping Others

As we continue looking at our spiritual path with wisdom shared by Unity co-founder Myrtle Fillmore, we are reminded that the best way we can help others is to know their Divinity. If we consider them to be "evil" or "undesireable", we only increase our own misery, and keep them in their state of error. If we know the very best about them, we call that innate Good forth.

  • 08/05/2018 Cooperation and Commitment

Just as parents need to teach their children how to rely on their own abilities and move confidently into adulthood, we must learn to go within, cultivate our Divine abilities, and move confidently in the world with the awareness of Wholeness. This confidence doesn't come from just thinking about Spirit, or simply reading books and learning "about" our Divine identity. we are required to practice, to devote ourselves to our spiritual path, and cooperate with the Infinite Wisdom within.

  • 07/29/2018 - Permanent Prosperity

Rev. Nita returns from vacation, and continues our summertime focus on the wisdom of Unity co-founder, Myrtle Fillmore. Her book, Healing Letters, has a great chapter entitled "Permanent Prosperity". Her first words of wisdom? We already have everything we need within. The primary practice is to continually return our focus to Source. The outer things are continually changing. Only Source is constant.

  • 07/22/2018 - Spirit Is In This Place

While it's fairly easy to feel the Omnipresence of Spirit when we're in our center, surrounded by the friends and music and other things which support our spiritual growth, sometimes we can lose that feeling as we go about our day-to-day lives. Our newest Licensed Unity Teacher, Susan Smith, shares some of the tools and practices which can help us maintain that awareness, no matter what.

  • 07/15/2018 - Choosing Faith and Spiritual Understanding

Do you remember the first time you walked into a Unity or other New Thought center? Licensed Unity Teacher Susan Smith shares how these principles have transformed her life, and suggests ways you might also work with them.

  • 07/08/2017 - Freedom From Fear

With the 4gh of July falling mid-week, we find ourselves with two weeks of focusing on freedom! Last week we looked at the choice to release ourselves from the non-productive thinking which has been holding us in bondage. This week, our work is to overcome fear. This is possible only through remembering that there is only One Power in the Universe. The how-to is contained in a series of practices.

  • 07/01/2018 - A New Year- Anytime You Choose

As we continue to look at the wisdom of Unity co-founder Myrtle Fillmore, we are reminded by her that we may choose at any moment to move into a fuller expression of the Christ within each of us. At any moment, we could choose to let go of the things which hold us back. As the apostle, Paul, said we can transform our lives in the twinkling of an eye, "through the renewing of our minds".
