A positive path for spiritual living

Sunday Lesson

  • 06/24/2018 - Tolerance and Compassion for EVERYONE

No matter what other folks may think of us, or how much we may dislike their politics or their actions, we must not place them outside of our love and compassion. No matter how intolerant others are of us, returning intolerance or hatred for the intolerance or hatred directed at us only increases the amount of hatred and intolerance in the world. We are responsible for our contrbution to the collective consciousness of humankind. (Please note: Audio is not great on this one.)

  • 06/17/2018 Righteousness - Right Thinking

It's Father's Day, and we're told Joseph was "a righteous man". Our focus from Myrtle this week is indeed, righteousness, which she explains as "right thinking".

  • 06/10/2018 Unfolding the Departments of Mind, Part 2

In addition to our journey with Myrtle Fillmore, some "things that go without saying" actually needed to be said. We do live in the material world, even if it's not "Real" in the sense that Myrtle uses the word. We affect one another, we are responsible for our actions, for our words, and for taking care of each other.

  • 06/03/2018 Unfolding the Departments of Mind

This week, we look at purpose from Myrtle Fillmore's point of view. According to her, our purpose is to express the creations of God which we are. We are to "unfold the many departments of mind", which will allow us to discern what is best for us to do.  (PLEASE NOTE: Audio quality is not great this week)

  • 05/27/2017 Introducing Myrtle

Uniy co-founder Myrtle Fillmore had the healing realization that she was a child of God, and therefore could not inherit sickness. It took her a couple of years to completely recover from the tubercular condition which had been determined to terminal, and lived many, many more years. During that second half of her life, Myrtle, along with her husband Charles, started the Unity movement, which is based on the awareness of the indwelling Christ, and the power of prayer. Today we start to get an idea of who she was, and what she believed.

  • 05/20/2018 Knowing That You Know, and Being Truth

Petacost is the day we celebrate the "arrival" of the Holy Spirit into consciousness by Jesus' apostles. When you read the story, they were pretty clueless. Jesus knew that unless and until he went away, they wouldn't come into their own power. So he gave them instructions, they followed those instructions, and - oh my goodness! - they DID indeed come into their power. We can (and must) do the same thing.

  • 05/13/2018 Mother's Day- Birthing Creativity

There's such a range of emotions around Mother's Day... some idolize their moms, other's find it hard to forgive their mothers' cluelessness. Wherever we are on that spectrum, it's important to remember that the "mothering" spirit is within each of us, regardless of gender, and that we have within us the ability (and the urge) to create. We are the ones who will evolve the world; let's choose to do so lovingly.

  • 05/06/2018 - I Am Inspired

We always have the option to claim the inspiration of Divine Wisdom, because It resides within us. The only trick involved is remembering!

  • 04/29/2018 Forgiveness- No Matter What (again!)

Here in the world of humans muddling through doing the best they can (which doesn't always seems so very good), we seem to need to blame someone or something for everything in our lives which doesn't meet our expectations. We get hurt, challenged, things don't go the way we wish they would, and we start making up stories. Generally, those stories center on the perception that nothing wrong is our fault; it's always because of that person, or this economy, or those political parties, or .... At some point, we need to forgive. We need to give up the stories, and give good for the error we perceive in the world. We must forgive, period. There is no loophole, no getting off on a technicality. We must forgive. Teri Wilder is our very special guest artist.

  • 04/22/2018 - Earth Day: We Really Are One

When we see the "Blue Marble" photo of the earth taken from space, it is easy to see that we are indeed One. No boundaries, no politics, no societal divides, no flags, no separation, just Oneness. From our viewpoint here on earth, it's not always so easy to remember. On this Earth Day, we are reminded that care and compassion are important, as we must respect and care for one another, for the animals with whom we share this world, and indeed we must care for this Blue Marble we call 'home".
